John Fox, Mike AdamsThe Denver Broncos are the favorites entering Super Bowl XLVIII, and one Broncos player is even ready to walk home, in his pads and all, if they take home the Lombardi Trophy.

Veteran safety Mike Adams grew up but a few miles from MetLife Stadium — the site of this year’s Super Bowl. He was raised in Patterson, N.J., only about 12 miles from the new stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., and the 32-year-old is ready to stroll the entire way home in his uniform if the Broncos win next Sunday.

“If we win the Super Bowl, I’m going to keep my helmet and pads on and I’m walking home,” Adams said, according to The Denver Post. “After I get to the IHOP on Route 3, I’ll start hitchhiking,” Adams said with a laugh. “But they’d probably think I’m just some crazy person.”

Adams, 32, doesn’t have the best memories of his hometown, so the walk would be more of a statement of pride for how far he’s come than anything else.

“It can be almost like a cancer,” Adams said of Patterson. “And I say that because the negativity in that place can be like a snowball rolling downhill.”

Considering the forecast, the walk may be a long and cold one, but bringing that Super Bowl swag back to his hometown would be worth braving through the elements.
