Despite not defeating Portugal in Sunday’s 2014 FIFA World Cup game, the United States men’s national team did frustrate Cristiano Ronaldo all night long.
Portugal’s star striker nursed leg injuries last week, but he was inserted into the starting lineup by coach Paul Bento. Ronaldo mostly was a non-factor throughout the game, though, and could not put the ball into the back of the net, appearing exasperated after every futile attempt.
Though he was the assist man on Silvestre Varela’s tying goal, Ronaldo clearly wasn’t happy with the way things were going for his team for most of the contest.
