Broncos’ Terrance Knighton Guarantees Super Bowl Victory, ‘Period’

Thanks for playing, New England Patriots. Nice knowing you, Seattle Seahawks. Heck of a season, Arizona Cardinals.

You’ve all done a nice job, but there is only one way this NFL season is ending, according to Denver Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. The Broncos will walk off the field in Phoenix after Super Bowl XLIX with the Lombardi Trophy, and that’s just how it is.

“It doesn’t matter what happens, at the end of the year, we’re hoisting that trophy,” Knighton told the Denver Post’s Mark Kiszla. “I don’t care if New England doesn’t lose again. I don’t care where we have to play. I don’t care who our opponent is. We’re not going to be satisfied until we hoist that trophy.”

Given a couple of chances to back down from his bold prediction, Knighton doubled down instead.

“Write that, and put a big period after that one,” he told the Post. “Exclamation point!”

OK, then.

This is good news, actually. Now the rest of the league can pack things up for the winter and doesn’t have to worry about suffering any late-season injuries in games or practices. Thanks, Terrance. The members of the other 31 teams owe you a debt of gratitude.
