The court of public opinion might find Hope Solo guilty by association after her husband’s latest brush with the law.

Solo’s husband Jerramy Stevens was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol early Monday morning in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. Solo was as a passenger in the car when police stopped the vehicle around 1:49 a.m. PST. Solo, the U.S. women’s national soccer team’s starting goalkeeper, and Stevens weren’t exactly cordial with the police, either.

“We’re told Solo was ‘acting belligerent’ in the car … and pulled out her cell phone to record officers during the stop,” TMZ Sports’ report says. “One source says ‘they were a major pain’ … and cops were thiiis close to arresting Solo for disorderly conduct.

“We’re told both Solo and Stevens were trying to play the dreaded, ‘Don’t you know who we are?’ card.

TMZ added that Stevens reportedly refused a breath test, but police obtained a warrant to test his blood at a local hospital, where they arrested him for suspicion of DUI.

Stevens’ bail was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 19, according to USA TODAY.

Stevens’ arrest comes a week after a judge in Washington dismissed domestic violence charges against Solo.
