Evan Rodrigues has generated great chemistry with linemates Jack Eichel and Danny O’Regan this season, and now the Boston University trio hopes to keep its place for another two weeks.
Rodrigues and the Terriers will face Northeastern in the Beanpot Final on Feb. 23, two weeks after it was originally scheduled but postponed due to a heavy winter storm. While the Terriers have other regular-season opponents to occupy their attention for now, the Beanpot showdown is circled on their calendar.
“It’s something that we’re all looking forward to,” Rodrigues told NESN’s Dale Arnold during the second intermission of the Boston Bruins’ 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars. “No one in our locker room has won a Beanpot. We know we have a great opportunity this year. We were getting amped up on Sunday and then we got the news that it had been postponed two weeks.
“Now we have a few games between then that we’ll focus on, but after the Notre Dame week I’m sure all of our attention will go back to that.”
