Hanley Ramirez has been a sponge at Boston Red Sox spring training. The 31-year-old is looking to absorb as much information as possible in his transition to the outfield.

Ramirez, who will play left field for the Red Sox this season, has worked extensively with first base coach/outfield instructor Arnie Beyeler over the last few weeks. Beyeler gave Ramirez and fellow outfielder Bryce Brentz some advice earlier this week about playing the Green Monster.

“He’s going to be as good out there as he wants to be, depending on how much work he continues to put in,” Beyeler recently told the Providence Journal. “After six weeks, I think we’re going to be able to see a pretty good product.”

Ramirez has been an infielder his entire career, so his preparation down in Fort Myers is key.
