Apparently, Mohamed Salah just needed a chance to play.

Salah scored both goals in Fiorentina’s 2-1 win over Juventus on Thursday in the first leg of the Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) semifinal. Salah’s first strike was one of the best solo goals of the 2014-15 European soccer season.

The game was tied in the 11th minute when Salah launched a devastating counter attack toward the Juventus goal. Salah gained possession in his own half, surged past defender Simone Padoin and rocketed his shot past goalkeeper Marco Storari.

Salah’s second goal — which he scored in the 56th minute — was less impressive but perhaps more important, as Fiorentina edged past Juventus and ended the Italian giant’s 47-game home unbeaten streak.

Salah, who is on loan from Premier League leader Chelsea, now has scored six goals in four games with Fiorentina.

Salah barely saw any playing time with Chelsea this season. The Egyptian forward played just 337 minutes in eight games with Chelsea before moving to Italian soccer in January.

Fiorentina has the option of making Salah’s loan permanent after the season. Something tells us the Italian club will do whatever it can to make that happen.
