Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the center of attention on both the soccer field and the Internet on Wednesday.
Ibrahimovic was shown a red card in the first half of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League game against Chelsea. Ibrahimovic’s dismissal robbed PSG of its biggest gun in the most important moment of its 2014-15 season to date and earned him an undignified place in European soccer history.
Referee Bjorn Kuipers dismissed Ibrahimovic for this tackle on Oscar. Ibrahimovic appeared to pull out of the challenge at the last moment, but the Chelsea midfielder made the most of the contact, and his teammates immediately surrounded the Dutch referee.
Ibrahimovic earned a place in the Champions League’s Hall of Shame with the red card.

Ibrahimovic remains one of the sport’s top players, but his red card only will encourage detractors, who say he can’t deliver in big games.
