Wherever Greg Hardy goes, controversy follows him.

The Dallas Cowboys defensive end already made a bad first impression on his new teammates by receiving a 10-game suspension after being charged with domestic violence last season. And it seems as though some of the Cowboys (understandably) aren’t too comfortable with Hardy’s murky past.

According to reports, Dallas defensive lineman Davon Coleman called Hardy a “woman-beater” Friday after the veteran questioned Coleman’s effort during a workout, sparking an altercation. Though Coleman’s agent said the fight was no big deal, former quarterback Brady Quinn said in his latest FootballByFootball.com column the fact that the news even got out of the locker room is a big deal.

“Wherever the truth lies is really besides the point,” Quinn wrote. “It’s never a good sign for a team when these sorts of stories become public — and in this instance, how quickly they became public. Locker rooms have and always should be considered sacred ground for players. What is said and heard, stays there.

“Greg Hardy must realize he will be under a microscope — not only by the media, but by his new teammates as well. He earned the focus because of his off-field conduct, but it will be particularly hot because he’s a talented player who now plays for the Cowboys who likes to paints his face like a tiger. The point is, he’s the type of player who would be primed for attention without the off-field problems.”
