Hate when you leave the windows open when it rains? The Miami Marlins know just how you feel.

Classic mix-up.

According to those on the scene, the action was delayed 16 minutes while the roof was hastily closed. The grounds crew scrambled to get a tarp on the field in the meantime, which proved difficult because, you know, tarps aren’t exactly needed for a stadium with a roof.

Florida is known for its frequent afternoon rain showers, so it makes sense that the Marlins installed a roof on their $634 million stadium. It does not make sense that the roof wasn’t used. Marlins owner Jeff Loria agreed.
