The first rule of golf etiquette probably is hanging on a sign somewhere in your mother’s house: “Silence is golden.”

Typically, the rule is faithfully followed, even by potentially rowdy spectators. But when Zach Johnson was preparing for his putt on the 16th hole of the John Deere Classic on Sunday, a loud noise nearly made him jump out of his golf shoes.

The noise sounded like it came from a boat passing on the river behind the 16th hole, and according to CBS broadcasters, the interruption was intentional.

It seems doubtful that any legal trouble actually awaits, especially considering Johnson went on to sink the putt and birdie the hole.

Regardless of ramifications for the boat owner, it still provided a hilarious moment which, obviously, the Internet took advantage of.

Johnson finished tied for third after missing a putt on the 18th hole that would have given him a share of the lead. Jordan Spieth continued his dominant 2015 by picking up another win. He defeated Tom Gillis in the second hole of a playoff for the win.
