If you turned away from your television for just 14 seconds Tuesday night, you missed one of the most electrifying plays of the MLB season to date.

The star of said play was Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon, who came to bat in the second inning with runners on second and third. Gordon laced a line drive to the right-center field gap off San Francisco Giants pitcher Ryan Vogelsong.

Just over 14 seconds later, Gordon crossed home plate for an impressive inside-the-park home run.

Gordon got a little help from from the Giants’ outfield, as right fielder Gregor Blanco wasted precious seconds trying to flip the ball back to center fielder Angel Pagan. That was all the 27-year-old speedster needed.

Gordon’s three-run inside-the-parker was his first of the season, and also the first such homer ever at Marlins Park, which opened in 2012. More importantly, it proved to be the difference for the Marlins, who earned a 5-3 win despite the absence of slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

“I’ve got to pick up the power with him gone,” Gordon joked after the game, via The Associated Press. “We’re like the same size.”
