Hanley Ramirez Returns To Red Sox Lineup For Matinee Tilt In Toronto

Hanley Ramirez is celebrating Canada Day by returning to the Boston Red Sox lineup.

The Boston left-fielder has been out since leaving a June 24 game after being hit in the left hand with a line drive. Ramirez was able to avoid a trip to the disabled list and after taking batting practice on the field Tuesday, he’ll hit cleanup and play left field against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Coincidentally, the Red Sox have played well in Ramirez’s absence, winning four of the six games he missed. However, Boston’s offense produced fewer than four runs per game over those six.

Deven Marrero will make his first career start at second base for the Red Sox.

Rick Porcello is on the mound for the Red Sox opposite Toronto’s Mark Buehrle.

Here are the lineups for both clubs for Wednesday’s Canada Day matinee.
