It’s no secret Mike Napoli is a terrific, beloved teammate.

A number of his Boston Red Sox teammates underscored that point with their reactions to Napoli’s trade to the Texas Rangers on Friday. But Sox utility man Brock Holt didn’t even need words to describe how he felt about Napoli’s departure, instead letting emojis do the talking.

For non iPhone readers, those emojis are sobbing, as many Red Sox fans are after the fan favorite was traded.

Holt wasn’t the only member of the team to say goodbye to Napoli via social media. Pitcher Robbie Ross Jr. took to Twitter to wish Napoli well.

The Red Sox tweeted a message for Napoli, too.

Fortunately, the team responded with a terrific 7-2 win, so let’s hope the momentum continues going forward.
