Patriots Practice Attendance: Reggie Wayne Absent Before Roster Cuts

FOXBORO, Mass. — Only four New England Patriots players were absent at Saturday’s practice, hours before the team has to cut 10 players.

Wide receivers Matthew Slater and Brandon LaFell, running back Jonas Gray and cornerback Robert McClain were the only missing players listed on the Patriots’ roster. McClain and Gray reportedly were cut by the Patriots on Saturday afternoon.

Reggie Wayne officially signed with the Patriots on Aug. 25, and his deal came with $450,000 guaranteed, so it would be a shock to see the receiver cut. It also is a major surprise that Gray was cut, since he had so much success last season, so anything could happen.
