It’s a short week for the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, but one Dolphin has hit the ground running with the “trash talk.”
Trash talk might be a little strong, but Miami Dolphins linebacker Chris McCain is probably someone Patriots fans will be watching for Thursday night. That’s because McCain changed his Twitter avatar to a Photoshopped photo of him squeezing the head of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
In addition to the visual, McCain’s photo also includes the hashtag “#CrushBrady” to really drive home the point.
Now might be a good time to mention McCain’s appeared in just three games this season and has yet to record a sack or even a tackle. He was inactive Sunday in the Dolphins’ win over the Houston Texans. The second-year undrafted player has just one sack and 14 tackles in 13 career games.
McCain and the Dolphins must be feeling pretty good about themselves right now. Miami’s won two straight since the Dolphins fired head coach Joe Philbin and replaced him with Dan Campbell. After allowing an average of 399.5 yards per game through the first four weeks of the season, the Miami defense has allowed just 310.5 yards per game since Campbell took over.
Of course, those games came against Tennessee and Houston, two offenses that pale in comparison to what Brady and the Patriots bring to the table.
