Tom Brady will break another postseason record just by showing up Saturday.
This weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs, the New England Patriots quarterback will play in his 30th postseason game, tying him with Indianapolis Colts kicker and former Patriots teammate Adam Vinatieri for the most in NFL history. Brady currently is tied for second with former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice.
Brady’s 1,085 playoff pass attempts, 683 completed passes, 7,345 passing yards and 53 passing touchdowns already top the all-time postseason lists. Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is directly behind Brady in all of those categories except for touchdowns.
Brady also could get another record if the Patriots were to make Super Bowl 50. He’d be in sole possession of most Super Bowl appearances by a player, surpassing former Buffalo Bills and Broncos defensive tackle Mike Lodish with seven. Bill Belichick also would improve his record for most Super Bowl appearances by a coach with 10.
