Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ AFC Wild Card Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he quickly was carted off the field and taken to the locker room.
But before he got to the locker room, Bengals fans peppered him with bottles and other pieces of trash.
It already was an ugly scene in Pittsburgh after a questionable helmet-to-helmet hit almost led to a brawl. But this took things to a whole new level.
The Steelers ruled Roethlisberger questionable to return with the shoulder injury, but he came back out with his helmet on in the fourth quarter and later returned to the game.
