The Atlantic Coast Conference’s No. 3 Virginia and No. 7 North Carolina have been two of the most consistent men’s college basketball team’s this season. But only one titan leave John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., a winner Saturday night.
The Tar Heels currently have the best ACC record with a week to go in the regular season, but they have three top-tier programs — UVA, Syracuse and No. 15 Duke — still standing in their way. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, have fallen back in the standings after losing two of their last three games.
