By now, you’ve probably heard that Kobe Bryant’s NBA career will end Wednesday night when his Los Angeles Lakers play their season finale against the Utah Jazz at Staples Center.

The NBA record for shots attempted in one game is 49 by Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan on Jan. 16, 1993. Jordan scored 64 points in that game despite the Bulls losing 128-124 to the young Orlando Magic.

Bryant might not approach that record in his last game, but Lakers coach Byron Scott can see his veteran guard taking every opportunity to score Wednesday night.

Bryant is no stranger to throwing up shots. A player has attempted 44 or more shots in a single game seven times in league history, and Bryant is responsible for five of those occasions. His career-high is 47 shots during a game in the 2002-03 season.

Regardless of what happens, it should be a memorable night at Staples Center as Lakers fans bid farewell to a legend.
