Aaron Hernandez has new representation in court.

The former New England Patriots tight end hired a new defense team Wednesday featuring high-profile attorney Jose Baez.

Baez is most notable for defending Casey Anthony, who was acquitted after being charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Now, Baez faces another tall task in representing Hernandez, who is already facing a life sentence after being convicted of the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez also pleaded not guilty in a separate murder case, where he is being accused of killing two men in Boston’s South End.

“We understand that numerous reports of our client’s alleged activity have been published, but we ask the public to afford Mr. Hernandez the presumption of innocence and let the facts unfold in a court of law,” Baez said in a statement Wednesday.

Baez’s legal team also includes Harvard professor Ronald S. Sullivan Jr. and Alex Spiro, who recently defended NBA player Thabo Sefolosha in his legal battle against the police.
