Free agent NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was involved in a troubling and rather embarrassing incident earlier this weekend.
Jackson, whose contract with the Seattle Seahawks expired last season, was arrested late Friday night on an aggravated assault charge after allegedly pulling a gun on a woman reported to be his wife at a vacation home near Orlando, Fla.
According to a police report, Jackson arrived home and kicked in upstairs bedroom door before getting into a verbal altercation with his wife. Jackson then pointed a loaded gun at her and said, “I’ll kill you.”
Per Chris Hush of WESH-TV in Orlando, Jackson’s wife responded, “You better be accurate, because you ain’t accurate on the field.”
A witness reportedly grabbed Jackson to prevent him from shooting. The 33-year-old QB was arrested and booked at Osceola County Jail and was released Saturday morning on $2,500 bond.
Jackson has played for four different teams during his 10-year NFL career, primarily serving as a backup. He has a career 59.6 percent completion percentage.
