This 6-Foot-2 Basketball Player’s Free-Throw Line Dunk Will Blow Your Mind

Pat Dickert averaged a mere 3.5 points per game this season as a junior at tiny Colby College, but he’s become an Internet sensation after throwing down a dunk that would make Zach LaVine jealous.

Dickert posted a video last week of him slamming home a dunk after taking off from beyond the free-throw line. Oh, and did we mention that he’s only 6-foot-2?

Dickert’s dunk has garnered national attention. As of Thursday morning, it had been viewed more than 148,000 times on YouTube and more than 236,000 times on Instagram.

“It’s something I couldn’t possibly have expected,” the Hatfield, Mass., native told “It’s blown up on so many different platforms. It’s even popular on Reddit, and I’ve posted a bunch of stuff on Reddit before and it really went nowhere.

“I figured it would die down after last week, but it hasn’t.”

Dickert isn’t a one-trick pony, either. His Instagram account is chock full of astounding dunk videos, including this compilation shot on the same day as his free-throw line dandy:
