Kevin Durant’s Reason For Spurning Knicks In Free Agency Is Terrifically Blunt

It’s easy to overthink things in the crazy world of NBA free agency.

That’s certainly happened in the case of Kevin Durant, who shook up the NBA landscape this summer by signing with the Golden State Warriors. Since then, we’ve seen rumors and conspiracy theories abound over why Durant didn’t go to Team X, Y or Z.

Durant has had to address those rumors in several cities this season, and during a visit to New York on Thursday ahead of the Warriors’ matchup with the Knicks, the superstar forward’s patience finally wore thin.

That settles that, huh?

The Knicks indeed were one of Durant’s suitors this summer, with Team USA teammate Carmelo Anthony doing his best to lure the seven-time All-Star to the Big Apple. Of course, New York wasn’t exactly an enticing option for Durant — especially in comparison to Golden State, which won 51 more games than the Knicks last season.

Durant isn’t completely cold on NYC, though; he’s a fan of Kristaps Porzingis, who apparently has KD to thank for his “Unicorn” nickname.
