Martellus Bennett Weighs In On Kanye West, Donald Trump With Harry Potter Analogy

The year 2016 has been so strange that it’s starting to look more like the wizarding world than the Muggle world.

One of the year’s weirder developments happened Wednesday, when President-elect Donald Trump hosted Kanye West, among others, at Trump Tower. The rapper has attracted a lot of negative attention lately after he went on a rant and voiced his support for Trump at a Sacramento, Calif., concert on Nov. 20.

Plenty of Kanye fans have expressed their disappointment in him since then, and Martellus Bennett just joined the party. The New England Patriots tight end took to Twitter on Thursday, using a great “Harry Potter” analogy to describe the whole ordeal.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the book series, Peter Pettigrew used to be one of Harry Potter’s father’s best friends until he betrayed him and revealed his location to Lord Voldemort, who went on to kill Harry’s parents. Pettigrew then faked his own murder and lived for 12 years as a rat (naturally) while remaining a loyal Voldemort supporter.

The good news, though, is that “Harry Potter” has a relatively happy ending, so “Kanye Pettigrew” might be a thing of the past before you know it.
