Johnny Manziel Thinks Browns Made A Mistake Drafting Him in 2014

Cleveland Browns 2014 first-round draft pick Johnny Manziel doesn’t think the team is good at drafting players, including himself.

In an interview Wednesday on the “Dan Patrick Show,” Manziel opened up about his feelings on the Browns front office.

“If Cleveland did any of their homework they would have known I wasn’t a guy who came in every day and watched film,” Manziel said. “I wasn’t a guy who really knew the X’s and O’s of football.”

In Manziel’s defense, Cleveland has a history of not doing its homework. The team has started 27 different quarterbacks since 1999. But, Manziel’s comments do come off as bizarre, because what team now would sign Manziel knowing he doesn’t watch film or know the X’s and O’s of football?

The free-agent quarterback then took to Twitter later in the day to clarify his comments.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner has been linked to both the re-branded XFL and the Canadian Football League as possible playing destinations for this fall if his NFL dreams don’t come true.
