DeSean Jackson Injured Vs. Dolphins: Latest News, Fantasy Fallout

DeSean Jackson left Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins with a left hamstring injury. The Washington Redskins wide receiver will not return.

Jackson suffered the injury while attempting to catch a deep pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins on Washington’s second drive of the game. He subsequently limped off the field.

Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Philadelphia Eagles, signed a three-year, $24 million contract ($16 million guaranteed) with the Redskins before last season. The 28-year-old caught 56 passes for 1,169 yards and six touchdowns in his first season with Washington.

Jackson entered the year as the Redskins’ No. 1 receiving threat, so his absence certainly makes life more difficult for Cousins, who recently was named Washington’s starting QB over Robert Griffin III.

Fellow wide receiver Pierre Garcon and athletic tight end Jordan Reed could see more targets in Jackson’s absence. Andre Roberts, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals, also could become a viable fantasy option if Jackson misses any time beyond Week 1.
