The Red Sox have invited 20 players to attend the team's major league spring training camp as non-roster invitees.
Half of the 20 invitees have major league experience, including pitchers Randor Bierd, Fernando Cabrera, Edwin Moreno, Joe Nelson, Brian Shouse and Jorge Sosa; infielders Angel Sanchez and Gil Velasquez; outfielder Darnell McDonald; and catcher Gustavo Molina. Cabrera and Velasquez played with the Red Sox last season.
The rest of the non-roster invitees include pitchers Kris Johnson, Casey Kelly, Adam Mills and Kyle Weiland; infielders Lars Anderson and Yamaico Navarro; outfielders Zack Daeges, Ryan Kalish and Che-Hsuan Lin; and catcher Luis Esposito.
The Red Sox' player development complex in Fort Myers, Fla.will host the team's spring training workouts for the first weeks of camp.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to spring training on Feb. 18, with their first workout scheduled on Feb. 20. Position players are due to report on Feb. 22, with the first full team workout scheduled on Feb. 24.
The Red Sox will move their spring operations to City of Palms Park when exhibition games begin on March 3.
