Jason Taylor has carved out a terrific career for himself by being quick off the edge, but the NFL’s active sacks leader is in no hurry to make a decision on where he'll play next season.

It could be the money or it could be the risk of going into a less than friendly situation in New York, but, according to ESPN.com, Taylor, who played for the Dolphins last season, will not decide on his future until the middle of the week at the earliest.

"It's not even about a contract," Taylor’s agent, Gary Wichard, told the Web site. "It's about Jason making the decision with his wife to move up to New York and play. When that's decided he'll have an opportunity to move forward in one direction or another."

The deal was reported as imminent last week, but the man who has relished the role of villain when it comes to Jets fans has appeared hesitant to make the switch within the division.

The rumors have polarized fans, most notably the Jets’ icon in the stands, Fireman Ed.

"That idiot came running over, looking for me, cursing, saying he wants to kick my [butt]," Ed Anzalone told the New York Daily News. "I looked at him and said, 'You see all these kids around here?' He was acting like a lunatic, acting like a [bleep]. Just stupid."

In the end, Taylor will have to pick between Rex Ryan's adoration for his game and fans' hatred of his personality. It might take me a little time to make that decision too.
