Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis may not have been named to the AL All-Star team when the rosters were announced Sunday, but with help from the fans, Youk could be in Anaheim for the Midsummer Classic on July 13.
While Youkilis was beat out by the Twins' Justin Morneau and the Tigers' Miguel Cabera, the Red Sox first baseman is one of the finalists for the 2010 All-Star Game Final Vote. Five candidates from each league are in the running for the 34th and final roster spot for their respective league.
Youkilis is joined by Nick Swisher, Paul Konerko, Michael Young and Delmon Young on the AL ballot.
As of Monday afternoon, Youkilis was trailing Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher in the voting, according to MLB.com.
Fans can help get Youkilis to the All-Star Game by voting here. The polls close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.
