Bill Belichick came to New England as a "defensive genius," but he's not limiting his wisdom to the football field.
His next area of expertise: saving money on heating costs.
The Patriots' coach was asked Friday if he ever raises the temperature in practices in the weeks leading up to games in Miami. He said he had done so in the past, but it's not the best method.
"The easiest way to get hotter is just to put on a couple sweatshirts," the coach said while wearing a customized Patriots sweatshirt of his own. "Really, that's as good a way to raise body temperature as any.
"It's a little more cost effective," he added with a smirk.
We'll all keep that in mind come January.
Thanks, Bill.
