Timex agreed to donate a dollar to charity for every runner that former New York Giant Amani Toomer passed during Sunday's New York City Marathon. They are going to be donating a lot of dollars — 20,000 or so.

Toomer crossed the finish line in four hours and 13 minutes on Sunday, besting Lynn Swann's NFL record in the event by 13 minutes, though he had been aiming to finish in under four hours, according to ESPN.com.

"I felt like a punt returner," Toomer said.

Toomer, who retired in 2009 after 13 seasons in the NFL, said that he felt like he used to on Sundays.

"It feels a lot like the end of a football game actually," he remarked.

Running coach Chris Thomas had nothing but praise for the former Giant.

"I was just throwing out everything I could at him," Thomas said. "I just told him to take it city block by block… He was incredible the whole time."

Though Toomer said that it was a lot tougher than he thought, he said that he'd definitely like to do it again. Maybe then, he could bring the NFL into the sub-four hour bracket.
