New York Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi was originally suspended four games for his actions on the sideline during Sunday's Jets loss. Now, in light of "new information," general manager Mike Tannenbaum has decided to suspend Alosi indefinitely.
That information was that Alosi instructed the players on the sideline to form a wall, as to restrict the space for Dolphins gunner Nolan Carroll.
Tannenbaum said that neither head coach Rex Ryan or special teams coach Mike Westhoff were involved in the wall.
On Monday, Alosi said at a news conference that his trip of Carroll was not premeditated.
"It’s just a situation where I wasn't thinking," Alosi said Monday. "That’s the problem. Nothing was in my head. I wasn't thinking. Had I been thinking, I would have taken a step back instead of going forward."
