There are still moving parts, and the deal isn't exactly imminent, but it seems like a trade sending Carmelo Anthony to the Nets is becoming more likely.

ESPN.com is reporting that a source claims that the Nets are now "further along" in their quest to acquire the All-Star from the Nuggets than they've ever been in their seemingly endless pursuit of Anthony.

The report also claims that a three-team deal — the Pistons would likely have to be involved as a third team for the deal to get done — could be made "as soon as this week."

On Saturday, the three teams had been reportedly discussing a trade that would involve up to 17 players. The most likely reported scenario would have Anthony, along with veteran guard Chauncey Billups heading to New Jersey, along with Detroit's Richard Hamilton. The Nuggets would reportedly acquire Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Anthony Morrows and a couple of first-round picks. And the Pistons, in an epic salary dump would acquire Johan Petro, along with Troy Murphy and his expiring contract.

Billups, a native of Denver, has reportedly expressed disinterest in being traded to the Nets.
