BOSTON — There was a meeting of champions in the Bruins’ dressing room following their 3-1 win over the Rangers on opening night.
Olympic gold medal gymnast Aly Raisman and her family were in the B’s room after the game, taking in the scene and in Raisman’s case, taking in some congratulatory remarks.
Bruins players one by one stopped by to introduce themselves to the Needham native, offering their congratulations for her performance in this past summer’s London Olympics.
Players like Zdeno Chara, Shawn Thornton, David Krejci and Tuukka Rask all took time out of their postgame routines to speak with Raisman.
Thornton, just an hour or so removed from going toe-to-toe with Rangers tough guy Mike Rupp, stood and spoke with the Olympic champion for a few minutes.
