Everybody loves a goalie fight, but bouts between goaltenders often garner cheers more for spectacle than for fighting prowess.
That was not the case Saturday night in the American Hockey League, when Syracuse’s Dustin Tokarski and St. John’s Eddie Pasquale engaged in a netminder battle for the ages.
The ruckus got started when Dimitry Korobov of the Tampa Bay-affiliate Crunch sent IceCaps captain Jason Jaffray hard into the boards midway through the second period. St. John’s — the Winnipeg Jets’ AHL affiliate — took exception to the hit and fists started flying, with the brawl culminating in Tokarski (in white) and Pasquale leaving their respective creases to throw down at center ice.
Both goalies got in a number of solid shots, but we give the slight edge to Tokarski. Check out the video below to decide for yourself. (stick tap to Puck Daddy)
