If the Jacksonville Jaguars were worried about an attendance problem at their games, they may have discovered a solution.
In a move that would surely please fantasy football players — at least the ones who are Jaguars fans — team president Mark Lamping told SportsBusiness Journal that the new video screens set to be installed at EverBank Field next year could be used to show the NFL RedZone channel during Jaguars games.
NFL RedZone is a special gameday-only channel that airs live look-ins of games from 1-8 p.m. on Sundays during the NFL season.
“We know this would be welcomed by the large portion of our fans who are transplants to Jacksonville, as well as all fantasy football enthusiasts,” Lamping said.
On June 19, the Jaguars announced a $63 million plan to upgrade their stadium, which includes two new, huge video boards that will each measure 55 feet high and 111 feet long. However, those additions won’t come until 2014, so Jags fans will have to wait a bit to get their chance at watching RedZone for free from the comfort of their stadium seats.
