The wide receiver is in talks with the San Francisco 49ers about “rebooting his NFL career,” multiple sources told CSNBayArea.com.
Lloyd last played in 2012, with the New England Patriots. He had 74 catches for 911 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games, but the Patriots chose not to pick up the option in his contract for the 2013 season.
Lloyd has played with six NFL teams during his 10-year career. He was selected by the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft and also has played with the Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams.
Lloyd’s best season came in 2010 with the Broncos when he had 77 receptions for 1,448 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Lloyd starred in direct-to-DVD zombie movie “After Effect,” which was released Oct. 28, during his break from football.
