Women in New England love their Patriots, so it’s not surprising that they buy plenty of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski jerseys. Apparently, Vermont didn’t get the memo.
Dick’s Sporting Goods released an infographic Monday tallying the best-selling NFL jerseys among women in all 50 states, based on in-store and online sales from May to October. As expected, Brady captured three New England states (as well as Wyoming), while Gronkowski led the way in Maine. But the ladies’ choice in Vermont was a bit of a head-scratcher.
Yup, that’s Drew Brees of your New Orleans Saints. Maybe Vermonters couldn’t decide between Brady and Gronk and just went with Brees’ jersey because it looked cool.
That wasn’t the only head-scratcher among America’s females. Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller’s jersey, for example, randomly was the top seller in North Dakota and Arkansas but not in his own team’s state.
The ladies apparently also know a bad team when they see one in the New York Jets, as Gang Green didn’t top a single state. Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkins took home New York, while New York Giants wideout Victor Cruz captured Connecticut and New Jersey. Poor Jets.
