Report: Darrelle Revis Won’t Attend Patriots’ Super Bowl Ring Ceremony

Darrelle Revis reportedly has better places to be Sunday when New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft hands out Super Bowl XLIX championship rings.

Revis, who now plays with the rival New York Jets, won’t be in attendance at the private ceremony at Kraft’s house, sources told ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini. The All-Pro cornerback had a “prior commitment long ago” and his mother will pick up the ring on his behalf.

Revis made waves when he said the Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady “have a history of doing stuff” when asked about Deflategate this spring. The Patriots elected not to pick up Revis’ 2015 free-agent option after last season, and he signed a five-year contract with the Jets shortly after hitting the open market.

Revis did attend the Patriots’ White House visit in April, which came before the cornerback’s comments on Deflategate.
