Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was pretty fired up after his team’s big win over No. 6 Notre Dame on Saturday night.

But apparently ESPN wasn’t in the same mood.

Swinney’s Tigers survived a furious Fighting Irish comeback during a torrential downpour to win 24-22 and improve to 4-0 on the season. After the game, ESPN went down to sideline reporter Heather Cox for a postgame interview with the head coach.

ESPN cut away from the interview at the worst possible time, as the emotional Swinney had just referenced his late father, who passed away in August.

The network said the awkward switch simply was the result of a TV transmission error and later posted a full video of Swinney’s comments.
