Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter why Eli Manning made one of the most epic Manning Faces of all time as big brother Peyton quarterbacked a game-clinching drive for the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. What’s really important is that he did, and we get to bask in all its glory for the rest of time.
But we now have an actual answer, so we guess we’ll fill you in.
“I was just focused on whether they’d go for two and the defense had to step up and make some stops,” Eli told TMZ Sports on Monday.
Well. That’s a bummer. And way less fun than the theory that Eli suddenly realized Peyton had as many championships as he did.
Alas, we can still enjoy Eli’s dopey, stupefied glare. It’s the little things in life.
