David Ortiz continued his ascent up the Boston Red Sox’s all-time home run list with a first-inning blast Friday night against the New York Yankees.
The veteran designated hitter took a Michael Pineda pitch deep to right field, which tied him with another Red Sox legend.

Ortiz has enjoyed an excellent start to the 2016 season. He’s batting .326 with seven homers, 25 RBIs and a .418 on-base percentage.
