David Ortiz isn’t shy about his heritage.
Though he’s now an American citizen, he’s never forgotten about his home in the Dominican Republic and the people living both there and in the United States. There’s a huge population of Dominicans living in New York, and Ortiz spoke about his appreciation of them — even if they root for the New York Yankees — before Tuesday’s game at Yankee Stadium.
