Cam Newton has had enough of being whacked around.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback took a number of hits during his team’s 30-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, and Newton believed some of those should have beenĀ penalties.

The reigning MVP took out his frustrations over the missed calls following the game and unleashed some fury toward the league.

“Itā€™s really taking the fun out of the game for me,” Newton told reporters after the game, per USA TODAY. “At times, I donā€™t even feel safe. And enough is enough.”

The most controversial of the hits Newton took during the game was a hit below the waist from Calais Campbell after Newton had released the ball. No penalty was called and Newton was visibly frustrated after the play.

“I’m speechless,” Newton said of the non-call. “I could’ve torn my ACL. That was the breaking point.”

Newton also said that he plans on speaking with commissioner Roger Goodell regarding the hits he’s taking and put some of the blame on the missed calls on his large frame.

“I don’t think there’s a person that can go through what I go through and still keep their heads,” he told reporters. “The story of my life ever since I came in is, ‘Oh, oh, well, we missed that one. Iā€™m sorry. Iā€™ll try to get it. Thatā€™s bull crap. As player in this league if we do something stupid we get fined. If you do something derogatory to somebody else, we get fined. I just can’t keep accepting, ‘Oh, we missed that one.’ Or ‘I apologize for doing that.’ Or ‘I didnā€™t see it.’ That’s horse crap.”

Newton has been sacked 16 times this season for a 7.2 percent sack percentage — the seventh-highest in the NFL.
