After bashing three homers in his first two rehab games with the PawSox, shortstop Jed Lowrie was well on his way back to the big club. However, on Wednesday night, Lowrie left the game early after feeling problems with his previously injured wrist that had kept him out for the majority of the season.

Despite the early exit, the team believes his latest setback is minor and should be something he can play through.

"He has been examined by our trainers, he will be looked at by [team doctor Thomas Gill], but the initial report from the trainers is really positive. I think it was more precautionary, and I think this is something he can probably play with. But we'll certainly get him checked out further," Red Sox manager Terry Francona told projo.com.
