Vick Will Play Thursday for Eagles The much-anticipated, heavily hyped return of Michael Vick to the NFL gridiron finally has an official date.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Tuesday that Vick will play on Thursday night in the Eagles' preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"Michael will have an opportunity to play," Reid said in a press conference. "I'm just going to take it play by play, see how he adjusts to game speed. If I think that's a problem, I'll probably discontinue the reps. If I feel he's adjusting OK, I'll continue to give him an opportunity here and there.

"I can only go off what I've seen in practice and it looks like he's moving around pretty good," Reid said of Vick, according to ESPN.com. "Realistically, it's been two years [since he's played in a game]. We'll see how it works out. We'll give him a couple shots in there and see what he can do."

Reid also spoke of how hard Vick has worked to prepare for playing.

"You see him out there conditioning after practice. He's conditioning before practice. He's excited to get out there," Reid said. "I'm sure he'll have a couple butterflies with it being a couple years since he's been in, but he's excited to get back doing what he does."
