Brett Favre Disagrees With NFL's Fines Against Jets
After the Jets were fined for failing to put Brett Favre on injury reports during the 2008 season, those within the organization were certainly displeased.

And although the money wasn't coming out of his pocket, Favre spoke out on behalf of his former organization on Wednesday.

"I just think it's wrong," the Vikings quarterback told The Associated Press. "They did everything that I felt they were supposed to."

The Jets were fined $125,000 after Favre played through a torn biceps tendon during the 2008 season. Favre persevered through the pain and said he informed the organization of his condition only because he wanted the Jets to know why his performance seemed to be suffering.

"I felt like maybe there were some throws where I could've played better because of this injury," he told the AP. "I just wanted to let them know that. I never asked them to put me on the injury report. I can't tell you how many times I probably should've been on the injury report. I practiced. I played. I knew I was going to play."

With Favre under center, the Jets went 8-3 to start the season but lost four of five games down the stretch and failed to make the postseason.

After the fines were levied, New York general manager Mike Tannenbaum admitted that the quarterback should have been listed as "probable" toward the end of the season.
