Dustin Pedroia Producing Another Impressive September

September has always been kind to Dustin Pedroia, but a week into the month this season it didn't look like that trend would continue.

Pedroia struggled through the month's first six games, going
2-for-23 (.087) with just two runs scored. The offensive catalyst for
the Red Sox failed to record an extra-base hit and didn't drive in a
run to go along with his abysmal .192 on-base percentage.

But
after going 0-for-4 in the Red Sox' Sunday afternoon win over the White Sox on Sept. 6, Pedroia
doubled in the series finale against the White Sox the following day, going
1-for-3 and beginning a streak of producing like his usual self.

Pedroia
has found his swing since Sept. 7, leading the Red Sox to a 10-4 record
by going 20-for-56 (.357) with three home runs, seven RBIs and hits in
14 straight games. The Red Sox' second baseman has scored 10 runs and
racked up four doubles while posting a .419 on-base percentage. He has
six multi-hit games and watched his average, on-base percentage,
slugging percentage and OPS rise over the 14-game stretch.

In
Pedroia's career, he is a .290 hitter in September with nine home runs
and 36 RBIs in 91 games. And as of now, it looks like he will turn in
yet another impressive finish to the regular season if he can keep up
his production for another 12 games.
