The report which speculated that Patriots cornerback Jonathan Wilhite was the victim of a home invasion was clarified on Tuesday by North Attleboro police, according to the Boston Herald.

The police released a statement, which said that Wilhite, 25, came upon two people in his parking lot when he got to his house. One of the people "approached him on foot and yelled at him," according to the report. Wilhite then ran to a local convenience store and asked the clerk to call police. The report says that Wilhite mentioned to police that he pulled his groin while running to the store.

“This is not a home invasion," police Lt. David Dawes told the Herald.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft, Wilhite played in all 16 games in his rookie season, recording one interception and 28 tackles. This year, he made seven tackles in the first two games of the season before missing Sunday's game due to the injury, which was described by his agent as "nothing serious."
